Special education and care centre


Definition:

An establishment for children and youth who cannot, due to their disability, attend a local school or nursery school.



The centre includes at least one of the following schools: 1. special primary school; 2. special post-primary school. The centre may also include a special nursery school established on the basis of an agreement between competent authorities. The centre provides for: 1. participation in individual or group specialist educational therapy classes, rehabilitation, physical exercises, social prevention and rehabilitation classes, preparing for independent social life; 2. participation in sports, tourist, recreational, cultural and educational activities.
