Doctoral dissertation


Definition:

A thesis prepared under the guidance of a supervisor, which should constitute an original solution to a scientific or artistic problem and demonstrate the candidate's general theoretical knowledge in a given scientific or artistic discipline, as well as the ability to independently conduct scientific or artistic work. Defending a doctoral dissertation is a condition for awarding a doctoral degree.
